TRAIN STATION PLATFORM APPROVED LED LIGHTING
Lighting for the Underground and Overground needs to be bright, glare-free and more importantly, energy saving. Trains, stairwells and platforms need to be visible by passengers and staff, ensuring safety within this busy environment. With our Train Station Platform LED lighting solutions, we have LED lighting suitable for both indoor and outdoor platform environments. Our recommended range of LED lamps are retrofit, whilst our LED luminaire range is IP65 rated (or higher) to combat the changes in outside temperature (e.g. rain, dust, snow, ice and heat).
We have supplied our Goodlight LED lighting into the following train station platforms – Baker Street, Cutty Sark, Island Gardens, Lewisham and Liverpool Street Station. All of which are benefiting from significantly brighter, cleaner and efficient lighting that both passengers and staff have applauded.
LED LIGHTING APPROVED BY TRANSPORT FOR LONDON
With our Goodlight range of LED lighting for train station platforms, we have energy-efficient LED lighting solutions to replace energy-draining sodium and fluorescent lighting commonly found on train station platforms. More importantly, two of our Goodlight LED products (the G360 LED SON Lamp and T8 LED Tube) have been rigorously tested and approved by Transport for London and can be found on the Approved Products Register. Approved LED lighting for London Underground includes the G360 LED SON Lamps, a retrofit replacement to sodium SON / Corn lamps, which can be used anywhere on the network, including on platforms, and the T8 LED Tube lights have also been approved by Transport for London for use in Non-Section 12 areas. Both the T8 and G360 are retrofit LED lights and can be installed into existing fixtures.
MONITOR & CONTROL YOUR STATION PLATFORM – WIRELESSLY!
For the ultimate energy and time saving solution, Light Boss™ Wireless Lighting Control gives Regional Operation Centres the ultimate monitoring and control of the lighting within multiple train stations. Light Boss™ puts an intuitive lighting system at the heart of the station’s operation, allowing you to automate the lighting, triggered by occupancy or daylight. Train station platform lighting can be controlled via the Light Boss™ app, allowing complete flexibility and the ease of monitoring the lighting at multiple sites.
EMERGENCY LIGHTING CONTROL
Light Boss™ can be integrated within your existing building management system, e.g. fire alarms, boilers and vending machines. In case of an emergency, e.g. when the fire alarm sounds, Light Boss™ will automatically turn all the lighting on to 100% brightness, ensuring passenger and staff safety within the station. Light Boss™ will additionally monitor all self-test emergency lighting for faults and report on findings.
Light Boss™ does not use noisy channels such as Zigbee, Mesh or BLE. The channel that Light Boss™ uses is uninterrupted, ensuring that train station lighting reacts without any delay or interference. Learn more about integrating Light Boss™ within your train station platform and how energy savings of up to 93% can be made by visiting the Light Boss website here.
G360 LED SON LAMPS
A London Underground approved LED lamp, the retrofit G360 SON (also known as Cob and Corn lamp), can be used anywhere on the Transport for London network, including train station platforms. The G360 LED SON Replacement is a high-performance lamp which delivers a staggering 140Lm/W brightness from its 360° beam angle and is virtually silent in operation due to its super cool chamber and heat sink which is kept cool by a MagLev Fan. The G360 replaces metal halide, sodium and HID lamps up to 250W and can be directly retrofitted into IP rated fixtures, cutting down time spent on installation. Network Delivery Managers, Energy Managers and Facilities Managers can achieve up to 80% in energy savings and a further 95% in maintenance savings. The G360 is suitable for illuminating large areas, making it perfect for lighting up platforms. The G360 is rated for 50,000 hours and is backed by a 5 Year Guarantee. Learn more about the G360 here.
