TRAVELLING LIGHTLY
As public transportation gets increasingly busier, travel terminals ranging from bus shelters and depots, to underground and rail stations, ports and airports are becoming landmark hubs for hospitality, retail, logistics and business-on-the-go. Brands are also tapping into these hotspots due to the sheer and every increasing numbers of consumers they can access, and extending their brand ‘experience’ to include these hubs.
These environments are a combination of indoor, outdoor and everything in between. Goodlight retrofit LED lamps were used by the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, to re-lamp all of the bus shelters in the region. Over 400 bus shelters were re-lamped saving SYPTE over 60% of the energy usage. Users of the service enjoyed brighter and better lit shelters, costing drastically less to run and maintain.
Goodlight retrofit T8 LED Tubes and G360 LED SON lamps have been Approved for use by Transport for London – and are available to order via the Approved Products Register. TFL’s reputation for the most respected Electrical and Health & Safety testing record in the world, this goes a long way to demonstrate the quality of our design, engineering build and performance of our LED products, and one we are extremely proud of. Look out for our new Goodlight LED installations coming to a London Underground station near you, soon!

Lighting in these areas can be easily covered off as either general lighting for passenger halls, lounges, ticketing services, retail concessions and amenities. The other types of lighting being utilised here will be operational, to support staff and the day-to-day running of the facilities. This can include some specialist areas; such as tunnel lighting within transportation sites or lighting at extreme heights, including hangars, garages and depots. We have unique lighting solutions for these environments, with some which have already been approved by Transport for London, read more here.
